My Contributions
Blade Surge was a solo project, fully developed in Unreal Engine 5 during my sophomore year. I was responsible for every aspect of the game’s creation, including:

-UI Design: Created a clean and intuitive user interface using Unreal's widget system, including menus and health bars.

-System Programming: Built core gameplay systems using Blueprints, including character movement, combat logic, and sword throwing.
​
-Gameplay Mechanics: Designed and implemented features, such as responsive controls, enemy behavior, and collision handling.
​
-Original Music Composition: Composed an atmospheric soundtrack to match the tone of the level.
​
-Sprite Art: Designed and animated character/enemy sprites to contrast and complement the 3D environments for a stylized HD2D aesthetic.

What I learned
-Developed a deeper understanding of Unreal Engine 5, especially Blueprint-based gameplay systems.

-Learned how to integrate 2D sprites into 3D environments to achieve a polished HD2D aesthetic.

-Improved my time management and problem-solving skills while juggling multiple roles as a solo developer.

-Gained experience balancing gameplay design, visuals, and sound to create a cohesive player experience.

-If I were to revisit the project, I’d focus on refining combat feedback and adding more level variety to enhance replayability.
