My Contributions
Nebulis was a team project consisting of 4 people, fully developed in Unreal Engine 5 during my junior year. I was responsible for the following:

-UI Design: Created a clean, non-intrusive interface that communicates gameplay essentials like speed and boost while keeping the focus on the action.

-System Programming: Designed the momentum, trick, and boost systems to reward player creativity and skillful movement across levels.

-Gameplay Mechanics: Implemented core mechanics including hoverboard controls, collectible interactions, and time trial functionality.

-Level Design: Built four replayable levels with unique mechanics, obstacles, and layout flow to encourage exploration, tricks, and speed runs.

-Original Music Composition: Composed and mixed synth-heavy tracks to match each planet’s vibe, enhancing both action and atmosphere.

What I learned
-Design Around Momentum-Based Movement: Balancing speed, control, and level flow taught me how to create mechanics that feel rewarding without being overwhelming.

-Communicating Through UI: I learned how to design interface elements that support gameplay clarity while preserving the visual focus on the action.

-Building Modular Systems in Unreal Engine 5: Working on tricks, boosts, and collectibles strengthened my understanding of reusable, scalable systems in a real-time engine.
-Collaborating Within a Small Team Across Multiple Disciplines: This project taught me how to coordinate effectively across roles, programming, art, and audio, to stay aligned with a shared vision.
-Using Music to Reinforce Game Atmosphere: Composing original tracks for each level helped me explore how sound design can enhance pacing, tone, and emotional impact.
